Fender Stratocaster 1966 – Lake Placid Blue

Up for grabs is this fantastic all original 1966 Fender Stratocaster in its original Lake Placid Blue finish! This guitar features that lovely wide feeling neck as well as three original articulate single coil pickups that can overdrive and rock out with ease. The neck pickup sounds fantastic clean with that classic bell-like tone and it beefs up nicely when overdriven with tons of punch! The bridge pickup has plenty of clarity and twang with plenty of balance. It sounds downright raunchy when overdriven! The in between tones (when you balance the original 3 way in those positions) are spanky and quacky. The guitar has some very light fret wear and some dings in the finish, but overall is a very nice example with the LPB finish remaining nice and blue without too much yellowing/greening. There is also the classic split in the pickguard by the neck pickup. The neck is straight and the truss rod works great and is responsive to adjustment. The guitar plays with optimal action and no buzz and is truly a fantastic player on top of being a rare and collectible instrument.
