Gibson Aldo Nova Les Paul Standard Reissue XPL 1984 – Sunburst

$34,500.00

Out of stock

When Scott walked into his local music store and purchased this guitar new in 1984, he had no idea that he was buying what would become the rarest and most coveted 80s Gibson of all time! Now, we are proud to offer it for sale for the first time since then.

This “Les Paul Standard Reissue XPL” , colloquially known as the “Aldo Nova” model is one of less than 20 known examples, making it one of the rarest production Gibson models of all time. This is a fine example that was lovingly cared for and gigged by the original owner, Scott for a few years with his band “Phenix”. The guitar has some light wear throughout, including a few dings and scratches and some light finish wear on the back of the neck. The frets are in nice shape and there are no repairs or issues of any kind. The guitar plays fantastically well with a dead straight neck, working truss rod and low action! The tim shaws sound wonderful and the guitar even comes with its original chainsaw case. This guitar is all original with the exception of the nut, though the original is included. Everything else is 100% original.

This heirloom quality instrument is truly a holy grail in every regard and a fine investment, with prices increasing dramatically within the last decade. (If you can find one in the first place! They seem to pop up for sale only every 3-5 years.)

This guitar ships promptly, pro packed and fully insured through our Heritage Musical Instrument insurance policy. I have included in this listing a Trogly Show episode that goes over the history and rarity of these instruments.
