This beautiful and rare Gibson “Old Hickory” Les Paul was made in commemoration of everybody’s favorite populist heartthrob, Andrew Jackson. A 275-year-old tulip poplar tree that stood on the grounds of Andrew Jackson’s home in Nashville until it was knocked down in a tornado has been reborn–as a line of guitars. Yes, this very guitar was made from that beautiful old tree that stood on the grounds of the dashing, daring, dueling president’s own historic home.

This guitar is in good shape overall but does exhibit some “case wear”: discoloration of the binding in some spots and some slight finish reactions on the back, perhaps where it was in contact with something for an extended period of time. It also has some light binding splits at the fret ends, as is typical on this era Gibson. Overall, the guitar is in great shape with perfect frets and no serious wear or cosmetic damage.
