ALL ORIGINAL MINUS POWER CORD, & NON OG VINTAGE JENSEN SPEAKER!
This baby is clean!! We acquired it from the original owner in Portland, Oregon. Most of these have replaced transformers or other shenanigans going on with them, but this one is very very tidy with only a replaced power cord and a vintage Jensen speaker that is not original (but sounds FANTASTIC) Me personally, I prefer these to a Deluxe because of their slightly cleaner sound (dont get my wrong, they still get nice and raunchy, but they have a very pleasing clarity that makes for a killer early R&B/blues sound.) These amps were made famous by guitarist Steve Cropper. Steve was a Memphis session guitarist and member of Booker T. and the MGs. He famously used his Fender Esquire and Harvard amp on nearly every Stax hit of the 1960s. These ranged from the mellow arpeggios on Otis Redding’s “I’ve been Loving You too Long” to the biting distorted riff of “Green Onions” by Booker T. and the MGs.
The tweed on this amp is 100% original and quite nice overall for its age. The grill is original and CLEAN! As you can see, the internals have not been messed with at all, and the amp is sounding fantastic and is working perfectly with no noisiness or buzz. These Harvards were not made in very large numbers and are getting harder and harder to find in this kind of condition!
